i have a few questions that i'd like to adress (if you don't mind of course).

Very true Kate, an open minded person looks into things. I converted in '00 because I thought they were teaching biblical truth, but had a rude awakening with the last Revelation book study in '07 But being orphaned in my teenage years and soon having to take over a business in my made my life such that I was and am very different than my peers. Also was attracted with the hope of seeing my dead loved ones again and all would be good, any day now..

I consider myself a biblical Christian plain and simple. No middlemen, central college or GB. If I have to go at it alone outside of any sort of congregation then so be it.

i am fairly "high up" in jw land and have to be somewhat careful how i word and say stuff.

What was your ''the last straw that broke the camels back'' moment

there is a limit to how much straw (long yellow grass) a camel can carry on its back.

if you keep putting more straw on top, it will finally break the camel's back.

when you are at the last straw you are finally angry and will not take any more.. my moment (to stop attending all watchtower meetings) was after the harsh treatment from the elders and fellow congregation members of my second cousin who was disfellowhipped as a teenager.

I think it was an assembly skit involving a group of young men. Of course, they choose the most attractive bros to appeal to the young sistas. They were sitting around talking about where they wanted to live in the NS and the type of house they wanted to live in. The theme was making the kingdom real to you. It was pathetic to hear the propaganda to put the kingdom first for the rewards later. Surprisingly, they all wanted to live in beautiful homes, with beautiful views, and perfect women. LOL. Heard that one as well a couple years ago at the Montreal ass. hall, same skit. Yeas all buff young men. Remember they are pimps, just like the by 23 year old you have to be MS to be marriage material or looser ville. I too tried to come back one last time after being inactive for a couple years thanks to burn out. But 2015 was a good year ! : March 15 WT total complete GB self adoration bunck study articles, the summer assembly with the giant 1984 type monitors on both sides of the stage, a young Marc Perron CO doing a sarcastic The Fonz type imitation saying " hey I can think for myself " and then belittling anyone that has critical thinking, the ARC with the dumb elders and Jackson's testimony and then JW.Org television with Lett asking for money. I DA'd in the spring, chickened out 2 days alter, asked to be transferred to English ( was in a French hall near my home ) then emailed the bro the following month asking if my file had been sent and never heard back. I assume they ran it by the CO's next visit and am guessing they cut me loose as I'm single and have no power over me. I read COC ISOCF COaC and even went to an Adventist meeting is how disgusted I was with the society. You can see how indoctrinated people are after you wake up, they have like a fog going on. Tried to level with a couple still in friends and an elder never saw them again after. Look of fear.

New edition of APOCALYPSE DELAYED

a new third edition of apocalypse delayed has been released.

this may already have been discussed or may be old news but i just saw it on youtube.

mr penton, the author, says he has included jws attempt to deal with 1914 and their new light on the governing body being faithful and discreet slave in this new edition.

Halfway through, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! The 'God's channel' idea started during the Rutherford era when there was a defection. Used to strong arm and intimidate as well as allow the yes men to side with the Judge to curry favor. Mr. Penton does a great job, valuable piece of objective research. Good info on Russell as well, started out with good intentions and also explains the miracle wheat. Basically he was naïve and duped.

Required reading as are Raymond Franz and Don Cameron's book's.

Good lesson on human nature in jockeying for status and position.

Esmeralda, what's going on is you are letting feelings of guilt dictate how you should act. I suffered greatly on account of this through out my life and only began to correct this issue recently. It makes you a target for manipulation and control by others as good people often are. My suggestion is to research this subject and talk about it with other students that are in that field of medicine. Learn to love yourself, I did. Took me the better part of fifty years to do so, don't make the same mistake I did life is so very short in this system. I'm still a believer but without any man made structure. I prefer to go to the Christ directly without any self serving middlemen. By all means take a break over the holidays, bonne idée jeune femme !

As for huge growth in developing countries goes I believe it as most religions there are offering some hope. Look up Doug Batchelor's Amazing Facts same deal. It can't be all bad I'm sure some people will benefit from some type of Bible study. Current conditions considered I doubt any will be life long adherents, survival is priority 1 in the third world.

so here is the thing, i love trousers/pants always have even as a kid i was such a tom boy, always up trees, covered in mud, skate boarding you know the adhd type (basically off my tree out of control) as i got older i still liked my trousers, it's what i'm comfortable in that & p.j's.

i love my p.j's.

so i hated that every time i went to the hall i had to wear a stupid skirt.

Speaking of which I saw quite a few nice butts crammed into over tight skirts at this summers assembly ! Was nice to look at, but seriously overdone for the occasion. Pant suits are cool, must we way more comfortable I would imagine. All about appearances with their 'rules' Oh yeah the heels, must be murder on your feet, ankles, knees, etc.

Good post all true, have to be MS at 23 according to TPT, the clique thing I have seen it and experienced it and then all the expectations of being 'spiritual'. My way of fighting back was to go sit waaay up front with the fart during prayer rejects and be as eccentric and unconventional as possible. A big FU to the borg and all the attitude remember it's hip to be square and to do your own thing, to be 'brazen' oh my, oh dear !

I've seen what JW marriage could of been and although a few opportunities came my way I ended up staying single as I knew I wouldn't last in the Borg, sort of like the brother with the 1976 expiry date story. Did his time, didn't happen got up and left hahaha ! : Being married in the org to me sounds like being married to : wife, cult, congregation, elders and as the girl above quoted to "headquarters" YUK

Feeling ill right now, think I'll go lie down a little..
